More Foreclosure and Eviction Proceedings Resume in Manatee, Sarasota and Desoto Counties…

In addition to the Executive Order 20-180 entered by Governor Ron DeSantis on July 29, 2020, the Manatee County Clerk’s office received an updated local court administrative order regarding the suspension of foreclosures and evictions effective immediately and until September 1, 2020.

The order provides for a limited extension of relief for single-family mortgagors and residential tenants adversely affected by the COVID-19 emergency.  The order also no longer provides for the suspension of other types of mortgage foreclosures or eviction proceedings.

The Manatee County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller’s Office is still accepting filings from property owners for evictions and foreclosures. The Clerk of Court is also able to move forward with issuing summons, proceed with sales, and the issuance of titles and writs of possession on specific cases described within the order.
