In order to establish or enforce a child support order, we must know where to find the parent responsible for support. We will use a variety of local, state and federal resources to search. Our statewide computer system uses other governmental and private databases to obtain and verify information.

If you know the whereabouts of someone who owes child support and is evading our efforts to locate them, please help us by filling out the Locate a Parent Form.

We need the noncustodial parent's social security number, date of birth, employer address, and mailing/residential address. If this information is not known, the computer system automatically searches the following sources:

• Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles
• Department of Labor and Employment Security
• Social Security Administration
• State of Florida Comptroller's Office (State Employees)
• Department of Children & Families (Client Registration)
• Florida Department of Corrections (Prisoners)

Additionally, we request information from:

• Utility companies
• Jails or prisons
• Armed Forces
• Schools
• Employers
• Local Post Offices

When we receive the needed information, we can take appropriate action to establish or enforce a child support order.
