
The Human Resources Department consists of a
Director and Assistant who are responsible for maintaining
approximately 280 employment records. The HR Department administers
policies, programs and benefit packages, looking for new approaches
and innovative practices in all areas of HR management to
help develop the Clerk's employees full potential for serving
the citizens of Manatee County.
HR ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process employment applications
- Perform pre-employment screening
- Perform new employee orientation
- Monitor performance appraisal program
- Maintain and monitor attendance records
- Maintain permanent personnel records
- Process workers' compensation claims and coordinates
work between employee and agent for insurance carrier
- Monitors unemployment claims and handle any appeals hearings
- Coordinate grievance and appeal activities
- Administer job classification programs and write job
descriptions
- Coordinate input for payroll
- Conduct wage and salary surveys
- Publish the employee newsletter
- Coordinate employee appreciation & recognition programs
- Conduct tours of the Courthouse for citizens, community
groups, and employees
- Provide public information such as verifying employment
